Home Facts About changing peoples lives/CPL   Changing Peoples Lives/CPL has been providing community residential services since 1988 for children and adults with medical, physical and/or developmental disabilities.  Our agency currently operates over 100 licensed Individual Family Care (IFC) homes serving nearly 200 individuals throughout Maryland.   The children and adults in our IFC program live in private residences licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as individual family care homes.  They participate in community life with their care providers and engage in daytime activities such as school, day programs, and vocational pursuits.
		Our Mission   CPL is dedicated to providing quality residential and case management services for individuals with special needs so that they can enhance their life skills and achieve their personal goals.  We encourage and support individuals and their families in making choices that will enable them to enjoy the diversity and richness of community life.  As part of the this effort , we seek to improve community awareness and education regarding disabilities and individual rights.

		program format   Our care providers and their homes must meet the criteria established by the State and our agency before they are licensed to provide Individual Family Care (IFC) services. In addition, each care provider participates in orientation activities and on-going training to assure they have the knowledge and skills to provide quality care for our consumers.   Case managers from our agency visit each home  regularly to review the individual’s progress and to discuss service needs. They also complete a thorough inspection of the home every three months to assure that the premises meet health and safety standards. Our staff of case managers and nurses work together with the care providers, health professionals, school staff, vocational and day programs, employers, service coordinators, and other service providers to secure and coordinate the resources necessary for the individual’s well-being and successful inclusion in community life.
